Presidential Proclamation on the Suspension of Entry as Immigrants and Nonimmigrants of Certain Additional Persons Who Pose a Risk of Transmitting Coronavirus (UK and Ireland)

On 3/14/20, President Trump issued a proclamation, effective 11:59 pm (ET), March 16, 2020, that, with some exemptions, suspends and limits the entry into the United States, as immigrants or nonimmigrants, of individuals who were physically present within the UK (excluding overseas territories outside of Europe) and Ireland during the 14-day period preceding their entry or attempted entry into the United States. The proclamation shall remain in effect until terminated by the President.

    A D.C. federal judge paused a Trump administration policy requiring lawmakers to give a seven-day advance notice for oversight visits to immigration detention centers, ruling Monday the lawmakers have shown irreparable injury absent relief given the need for "real-time, on-the-ground information" about facility conditions and detainees' statuses.
